the 24th of may at 7:00 a.m. 180 cops with diferents equipments came inside of the Anti_mat squoting forest .
During eigh long hours we’ve been evicted and our houses destroid, but we know that this number of polices is not egnough to destroy the passion for the freedom.
The desproportion of the police intervention makes clear how the Estate is afreid in front of a small and pacific protest.
During the 5 months of the ocupation, persons with diferents experience and skills has resisted the avance of the high level tension without any kind of organization, just shearing every day and improvising when necessary, all giving life to the piece of forest.
This eviction have finished the fisic space but not the thousents ideeas that everybody who pass arround there put in comun; shearing diferents fight ways.
With this eviction the Estate show clearly the interests of who is defending. The intere$t of Red Electrica Española.
The Estate spit on the fight years against the MAT, it laugh of the forest destruction and it dosen’t care about the health problems that the MAT makes.
This action have been one of the neverending ways of fight. We know between the hundreds of persons who joined us dancing in the ropes, some of them will still figting against the destruction of the planet and the squoting places, against who enclose them, against the animal and human explotation.
If the nightmare of the industrial “progress” still advancing, the figth and the resistance will continue!!!
Since october 17th we're occupying a piece of forest that was meant to host one of the hundreds of electrical towers that conform the new Very High Voltage (MAT) power line, and that will eventually interconnect France, Spain and, time will tell, Africa. The place we now call our home is in an area called Guilleries (Girona), near Sant Hilari Sacalm village, at about 1000 metres high and surrounded by mountains in a pretty isolated environment.
The reasons for this occupation are many: we won't accept without fighting yet another gigantic infrastructure that will solve absolutely nothing and in fact, will worsen things up. We have to choose which side we're in: either we stand for western civilization or we fight against it. It's time for action. This is an attempt to show that some people still have what it takes, that challenging the establishment is a condition for us to be able to live in this world.
Some of the "problems" this MAT line hopes to solve are: to be able to secure electrical power for the tourist villages (especially in summer) of Girona (Costa Brava, for example); electrical supply for the TAV/AVE (which would happen to be the first one to need it!); avoid electrical blackouts like the one of 2007? in Barcelona... We're not going to enter the debate arena in which one side shows an "independent study" that states how much this power line is needed and the other side comes yet with another study that shows the opposite. It's obvious which side we're with, but we state that it is imperative to actually FIGHT this power line and not just keep debating and making press conferences.
In the meantime, we're trying to build te foundations of a new world starting right here and now, reconnecting with the Earth. Living what our instincts tell us, hurting the empire and making pressure on its fissures. From here, from the forests that have always hid the rebels, maquis, conspirators and plotters. We can still be kinda invisible and feel protected by these forests.
The've sold us the idea of progress and science as a nostrum/panacea that will free humanity of its fears and that will give us commodities never dreamed before. A commodity that, on the other hand, we never get to catch because progress has to create new gadgets every single minute. What we're able to see is that progress reduces us to total useless persons, full of insecurities and passivity. Every moment we spend in this world we lose knowledge about how a life would be without all these commodities they sell to us.
So long the occupation is very successful. In this (almost) two months, a lot of structures have been built: many beds on the trees, a communal "chill" house in between three trees to read and plot, a communal kitchen, a info point, a "warehouse" to store materials and keep things dry...and many resistance structures that will keep police busy for (we hope) some days when they try to evict us. Also very important has been the help and involvement of many people we didn't know until some weeks ago: local people from the nearby villages, people from Barcelona and other cities that show up and help, people that decide to stay for some days (or even that came to live with us) and bypassers that are curious of what we're doing.
Our communication strategy has been to try to communicate directly with people instead of letting mass-media protray us and manipulate us as they want. No work has been done with them. We have used our own means: texts, flyers, posters, face-to-face talking with people of the villages, social movements and outr own blog (desdelsboscos.blogspot.com). Mass-media are never impartial, less when they're means to enrich themselves and to keep this capitalist machine running full-speed. That's why we invite everyone to show up with no cameras or microphones.
From the forest, a big hug to all people trying to get rid of this capitalist-industrialist system and that struggle to create a world without any kind of domination!

Pera arribar-hi des de l'eix transversal Vic-Girona (C-25), si vens de Vic:
Surts a Coll de Ravell (és una "àrea" de servei) direcció Sant Hilari/Pla de les Arenes/Fontdor (carretera GIV-5411). Continues per aquesta carretera fins trobar un encreuament a mà esquerre que posa St. Sadurní d'Osormort/Vivers Tortadès (GI-5411). Vas continuant fins que trobis una pista forestal a mà dreta que posa Cabanes de Fusta/Cabanes als arbres (és una pista forestal bastant ampla. A l'entrada de la pìsta hi ha una gran pila de troncs). Vas seguint aquesta pista. Després de trobar una masia amb una cadena a mà dreta i un senyal de tràfic, continues per la pista forestal gran i a pocs metres trobes un trencant a mà dreta i l'agafes i tires amunt. La major part de recorregut està indicat amb els punts grocs (a la zona asfaltada al terra i a la zona forestal als arbres)
Per arribar-hi des de l'eix transversal Vic-Girona (C-25), si vens de Girona:
Surts a la sortida de Sant Hilari. Abans d'arribar al poble hi ha un trencant a mà esquerre que posa Font Vella, SA. Agafes aquesta carretera. Al final d'aquesta carretera trobes una rotonda i has d'agafar direcció Pla de les Arenes/St. Sadurní d'Osormort. Continues per aquesta carretera fins trobar un encreuament a mà dreta que posa St. Sadurní d'Osormort/Vivers Tortadès (GI-5411). Vas continuant fins que trobis una pista forestal a mà dreta que posa Cabanes de Fusta (és una pista forestal bastant ampla. A l'entrada de la pista hi ha una gran pila de troncs). Vas seguint aquesta carretera. Per arribar està indicat amb punts (als arbres) de color groc. Després de trobar una masia amb una cadena a mà dreta, continues per la pista forestal gran i a pocs metres trobes un trencant a mà dreta i l'agafes i tires amunt. La major part de recorregut està indicat amb els punts grocs (a la zona asfaltada al terra i a la zona forestal als arbres).
Para llegar desde l'Eix Transversal Vic-Girona (C-25), si vienes de Vic:
Se coge la salida de Coll de Revell (se llega a un área de servicio) y se coge la carretera que indica "Pla de les Arenes" (GIV-5411). Se sigue en esta carretera hasta encontrar un cruce a mano izquierda que indica St.Sadurní d'Osormort (GI-5411). Se sigue por ella hasta que a mano derecha encontramos una pista forestal que indica "Cabanes de Fusta/Cabanes als arbres" (una pista forestal bastante ancha. A la entrada de esta pista hay una enorme pila de troncos). Se sigue esta pista unos minutos. Al rato, a mano derecha veremos una masia con una cadena en la entrada y una señal de trádico, y unos metros más adelante un desvío a otra pista a mano derecha que hace subida. Se coge esa pista y se va siguiendo hacia arriba. Buena parte del trayecto tiene unos puntos amarillos que indican la dirección (por ejemplo, el desvío hacia la nueva pista forestal está indicado con un punto amarillo en la roca, y desde alí hay que seguir los puntos de los árboles.
Para llegar desde l'Eix Transversal Vic-Girona (C-25), si vienes desde Girona:

First off, you should arrive to Vic or Girona. From both these cities you should be able to drive/hike/bike to the road C-25 (or eix Transversal). Independently where you come from, you should take the exit called Coll del Revell, which basically is a gas station with a restaurant. Just in front of it, there's a small road (GIV-5411) which heads to Pla de les Arenes. Follow this road for some 5 or 6 km. until you find another road (GI-5411) heading to Sant Sadurní d'Osormort. 2 or three km. in this road, on the right hand you should see a big pile of chopped wood with directions to "Cabanyes als boscos", which is a sand forest road.You should follow this one for a while... It's always up and up, but in some point a downhill starts... when this ends, you should see a house on the right. Pass this house and about 100 metres ahead there's a new road at your right. It has a small yellow point painted in the rocks. From then on, you should follow this yellow points which will get you to the occupation.
